A space for trans, nonbinary and gender creative folk

We acknowledge that the current political climate is becoming more and more dangerous for trans people on Turtle Island. In the States, trans people are being legislated out of existence and denied access to basic necessities such as safety, freedom to move, healthcare, and employment.

In Canada, trans people are also under threat. At Biblioterre, some of our membership is trans and we seek to offer a sanctuary space where trans people can rest, connect to the land and resource themselves. We are also actively working on supporting a culture of mutual aid in and around Biblioterre where we can help meet each other's needs and build collective power. We actively encourage trans folks to get involved as friends of Biblioterre, and also seek more trans membership.

Some trans members have run a few events at Biblioterre including a weekend skillshare retreat called the Garden Of Gender Euphoria. This was a space for trans folk to connect with each other and the land, and deepen their understanding of herbal medicine.

If you would like to collaborate with us, offer a retreat, workshop or have other ideas on building trans resistance in the countryside, please get in touch.
